Recently, ARMF has acquired the ALCO Diesel Locomotive 316-003-3 (former Nr. 1603) to firm GMF-COMSA. Our Association's purpose is to recover her at her classic state of RENFE in order to she can haul again Historical Trains. Unfortunately, we can't reach all without your collaboration, given that other repairs of our rolling stock sucks up the few resources that we count on. That's the case of the Garratt locomotive 462F-0401's major Restoration.

Because it, we want offer the opportunity to our friends, collaborators and interested people, to they can help to the ALCO Nr. 1603 returns again on the tracks in her new duty. As result of our interest in promote the railways activities that encourage the tourism at any place from our country, we have established the Fundación Fomento Turístico Español (Spanish Tourism Promoting Foundation), a very useful instrument that allows us to be helpful, in a indirect way, those that can aid us with their contributions.

R.- There are two ways, through voluntary work, or by means of monetary contributions to Fundación Fomento Turístico Español, which ARMF is Founder Patron.

Q.- For what purpose my contribution will be spent?
R.- Your contribution will be spent exclusively in restoration and set in value of the ALCO locomotive Nr. 1603, with our obligation that, if in the future she stops belonging to ARMF, the contributions received will be given back to the donors.

Q.- Are there extra benefits to my contribution?
R.- Aside from the fact to contribute actively to the safeguard, Restoration and preservation of an historical vehicle, there are other extra benefits:

  • Tax reduction of contributed amounts.
  • Acceptance as ARMF's Collaborator Fellow (for donations upper than 1.500 €).
  • Participation in the open doors journeys that will be celebrated at Lleida and have access granted to footplate (only in the workshop yard, that it is clearly forbidden by rules in force to do it in the routes in service).
  • Basic course of teorethical and practical locomotive's knowledge.
  • Discounts in the ARMF's trains hauled by locomotive Nr. 1603 and open to public. These discounts can vary between a ticket's price percentage (5% for donations upper than 100 €, 15% for donations upper than 600 €, 30% for donations upper than 1.000 €) and travel for free (for donations equal to or upper than 3.000 €). The discounts will be applied to a maximum of 5 trains by year, except for the last category, in which case they will be unlimited. These discounts will be applicable only to the donor (physical person), but a companion can take advantage of a proportional discount, lower than that's applied to the donor.

Q.- How can I to help through my work?
R.- By means of active participation in restoration works. One Saturday every month will be established as work day, for which is essential that at least 3 people are inscribed in this kind of collaboration, in order to optimize the workshop's resources.
The participants will be covered by an accident insurance and they will dispose of the guidance of a specialized workman, who will instruct them in the task to perform, which never will be dangerous, nor technically difficult. Also collaboration in work days will be accepted, with previous request to ARMF or in case of minimum people for perform the activity in Saturday not be reached.

Q.- How can I to bring a donation in cash?
R.- By means of a deposit in the account 2100-3280-76-2200211920, writing the donor's full name and the information "Donación locomotora ALCO 1603 - ARMF". Send the deposit receipt by post to:

Once we receive the deposit notification and the conformity, we will emit the corresponding certificate on behalf of the donor, for tax reduction.
