Regular Trains

Through agreement established amongst ARMF, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC, Catalonia Government Railways), the Tourism Board of Diputació de Lleida and some councils of towns served by Lleida-La Pobla de Segur railway line, the historical consist is running every Saturday during Summer months. This regular train has been named from 2009 on as Tren dels Llacs (Lakes' Train).

This train runs between Lleida and Balaguer with steam power, given by the very impressive articulated steam locomotive Beyer-Garratt class 282F-0421 ("Garrafeta"). The traction change takes place in Balaguer; then the train goes on until La Pobla de Segur hauled by the diesel locomotives Nr. 10817 and 10820 ("Ye-yé").

We travel across a landscape of incomparable beauty by a mountain railway line, finding a way by means of forty tunnels and viaducts through Serra del Montsec (Montsec Mountains). Once in La Pobla de Segur, we have time for visit the town and have lunch.

The return takes place in the afternoon, and one hour stopping is made in Balaguer, which allows us to visit several interesting places in the Noguera's region capital town.
